But, since I'm in total control of the article, I didn't see much harm in going through with it. If he didn't pay, I'd just delete it. As far as Google is concerned, it absolutely helps his site. That's why he offered me money as part of the deal. That really says it all... he's probably tried to just offer people free content and found that it wasn't enough. The $25 offsets the fact that he's picking up 2 good links in some people's minds. Yeah, anytime an unsolicited offer involving money comes up, I’m instantly on guard. It'd kinda throw up a red flag for me that he was offering me money instead of just a link/article swap. From a search engine's perspective (Oh, let's just call it Google), does it help this guy's site that he has a quality link from you and (I assume) he has no return link to your site?
